Major Wildlife Attractions in Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary

Sanjay Gandhi National Park has a rich and diverse variety of wildlife in it. The park is famous for its lions, tigers and leopards. Besides lions, tigers and leopards, other animals found here are Palm Civet, Black Naped Hare, Hanuman Langur, Barking deer, Hyena, Sambhar, Mouse Deer, Rhesus Macaque, Bounet Macaque, Spotted Deer, Indian Flying Fox and Porcupine. Despite nearness to urban settlement there are large number of leopards in the park. Hyena or four horned antelopes, wild dogs and Sloth bear are also seen in the park. Reptiles have also made this park their habitat and one can see crocodiles in the Tulsi Lake, and pythons, cobras, monitor lizards, Russell’s viper, bamboo pit viper and Ceylonese cat snake here. In total there are 38 reptilian species. A visit to Sanjay National Park promises to be an exciting and rewarding experience for all wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers.
